Standard Chartered invests $500 million in Atome Financial to expand in Asia

Atome Financial operates Asia’s largest buy-now-pay-later platform, Atome, as well as digital lending platform Kredit Pintar, which Standard Chartered is investing in. As part of an investor consortium led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Warburg Pincus, Atome closed a $400 million+ Series D financing round. Standard Chartered Bank is Atome Financial’s new banking partner. In Asia, the partnership will allow the bank to offer a full range of digital-first financial services. It will also help retailers grow their customer bases and basket sizes, contributing to regional economic growth.
